  The Istituto Tecnico Industriale for Tanning Chemistry “G.Galilei” is a State High School founded in 1960 at Arzignano (Vicenza) with the aim of preparing specialized technicians for the Tanning Industry.

There is, also, a course for Biology Technicians.

The Institute has a library containing about 3,000 books, which is also the seat of the Italian Research Chemists Association Library. The library is rich in works and technical issues at the disposal of teachers, students and members of the AICC (Italian Association of Tanning Chemists).

  The Institute has well equipped laboratories of Physics, Computers Science, Chemical Plants, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology and Polymer Science. There is also a tannery with machinery for the tanning of hides, from raw to finished ones.

The specialised Laboratories offers consulting and analytical services to the tanning industry.
